The Summer Games originally started as the "Bar Olympics" with staff and patrons from the Stonewall and Candida's participating in fun, athletic games at the Rainbow Mountain Resort to raise funds for Lehigh Valley and Pocono HIV/AIDS support services. Rapidly growing in support, attendance,and fame the event was re-named The Summer Games to reflect the greatly broadened focus and features.

For 27 years good people like yourself have sponsored teams and contributed to the success of FACT’s fundraising event, the Summer Games. We invite you to join in the fun and festivities by celebrating with us at The Woods Campground in Lehighton. This year, the event will be held Sunday, August 26, 2012. This year’s theme is “Vegas at the Woods.”

Please give serious consideration to organizing a team to participate in the competitive events. We challenge you to sponsor a cheerleading squad to compete in the cheerleading pageant. Do not forget to encourage your friends, patrons, and others to come to the Summer Games and support your team and FACT. There is plenty to see and do on this fun filled day!

Team events will include a water relay, water inner tube race, clothing race (it’s a real “drag”), condom toss, orange pass, human wheelbarrow race, volley ball, a pie eating contest, and a cross-country run. Each team consists of eight members – three female, three male, and two alternates (one male and female). Teams are required to pay a $15.00 admission fee for each team member which includes a Summer Games T-Shirt. Please visit our website at www.factlv.org to see pictures from prior Summer Games.

Our friends will have fun things to do besides cheering on their favorite team. There will be a dunk tank, a limbo contest, performances from the Summer Games Cabaret, live entertainment, a raffle for terrific prizes, a “Chinese Auction”, and vendor service agencies.

Throughout 2012, FACT celebrates the caring and giving of individuals, groups, and business’ – who through their constant and generous support over the many years have contributed over TWO MILLION DOLLARS to FACT. FACT’s mission has always been to improve the quality of life for those infected / affected by HIV/AIDS.
